DESCRIPTION:Where: \nOur First outing of the season will see us visit Woolley Park Golf Club to play for the Keeble cup. This will be a Stableford competition. \nOpened in 1995\, Woolley Park is a stunning 18 hole golf course set in 150 acres of traditional parkland. The original layout was designed by golf course architect Michael Shattock. Since its inception in 1995 the course has matured beautifully and subtle changes have been implemented by the greens staff to make sure the course remains captivating and a pleasure to play. \nThe white 6667\, yellow 6132 and red 5379 tracks offer up a challenge for all levels of golfing ability. Undulating greens\, built to USGA specifications\, and gently sloping fairways are characteristic of the course. Water comes in to play on five of the holes\, sometimes requiring careful navigation. \nWhen: \nFriday 24th April. Please meet at 10 o’clock for Bacon rolls & brews. SUMMARY:AGM trophy @ Malton & Norton G.C.
DESCRIPTION:After much discussion and voting this years AGM will take place at Malton & Norton Golf Club on Tuesday 9th September. \nIt was way back in the 90’s when the society last visited this venue and a return is well over due. The course comprises of 3 x 9 hole loops on easy an easy walking parkland course and is a one of Yorkshires hidden gems for sure. \nWe are to meet from 0945-10 o’clock to play 9 holes from 1030 which will then be followed by bacon sandwiches and the 2025 AGM. The afternoon will see us play 18 holes and to finish the day will be a meal. The menu will be confirmed in due course. \nThe cost of the day will be £75 plus £5 sweep as normal. \n

SUMMARY:AGM Trophy @ Low Laithes G.C. (Stableford)
DESCRIPTION:This years AGM Trophy will once again take place at Low Laithes G.C. \n The course\, a parkland course\, offers a true test of golf with some tight fairways and greens that run pretty quick to say the least. \nWe are to meet at 0930. The tee is reserved from 1004 for 9 holes followed by bacon rolls & coffee.  The main 18 hole Stableford competition will take place in the afternoon with the tee reserved for 1315 followed by steak pie. \nThe AGM will take place at lunch time when we will elect any new officials together with the usual discussions taking place before moving forward into 2025.  \nA Breakfast sandwich and lunch of  Steak pie is included in the cost of £53. DESCRIPTION:Once again we return to Pontefract & District for this years Keeble cup. This is a another course we play drawn up by Dr. Alistair Mckenzie\, Ilkley & Low Laithes been the others. Dr. Mckenzie has had a role to play in many courses throughout the world including the most famous Augusta National and all of the courses he was inlvolved with\, including Pontefract\, are a challenge to all levels of player. \nThis will be an 18 hole stableford competition with the first tee booked for 11 o’clock. Please arrive by 10 am for coffee and bacon sandwiches before the golf.  \nThe cost for the day will be £31 +£1 subs & £5 sweep. \nThere are no buggies booked so please advise me if you require one booking.

DESCRIPTION:We return to Rudding park for the Hickling trophy\, a course not visited since 2015 and so it should be an interesting challenge. DESCRIPTION:This years captain has decided to hold his day at Normanton G.C. \nNormanton is a super course that boasts some of the fastest greens in the Yorkshire area. These greens together with the lakes and streams that run through the course offer a challenge to every level of golfer.  \nThe course is set in the grounds of Hatfield Hall & is located between Leeds and Wakefield and is easily accessible from the M62 Motorway.  \nIt is a one of just 3 fixtures that are full day out where we will play 27 holes. Please meet at 0920 to sign in and collect your score card etc. The tee for 9 holes is reserved from 1000 followed by a Bacon butty with tea & coffee. The afternoon will see us playing 18 holes followed by the serving of a super Steak pie for dinner with the prize giving to follow. The total cost for the day will be £50. DESCRIPTION:Another course that’s not been on our calendar for a long time is Pike Hills on the outskirts of  York. It does see a return this year however\, where we play for the Hickling Trophy.  \nPike Hills is a picturesque parkland course built around Askham Nature Reserve meaning it’s a course where some amazing wildlife can often be seen\, particularly between the 6th green & the 7th Tee box. \nPlease meet at 10 0’clock for our usual breakfast sandwich with the golf commencing at 11 am. DESCRIPTION:This event is sure to be the highlight of our season and will be hosted by our captain Alan Ashbee.  He has chosen Woolley Park for his event and I’m sure you will turn out in great numbers to support him. \nThe day will start with us meeting at 0930 for coffee and probably the best bacon sandwiches in the world before we head out for the 9 hole\, par 3 competition at 1030 Afterwards we will have lunch followed with our 18 hole competition which will begin at 1230. After we have played to the absolute best of our ability we will return to the clubhouse for a 2 course evening meal and the day will finish with the prize giving and handicap banter I’m sure!! \nThe menu for lunch will be ham salad sandwiches and maybe chips if Alan can persuade the club.  Dinner will be steak pie with Bakewell tart to finish.  \nThe cost for the whole day will be £50\, Plus £5 Sweep. \nAnyone requiring a buggy can you please contact me.  \n

DESCRIPTION:*POSTPONED UNTIL FRIDAY 18TH JUNE.* \nThis event is an 18 hole competition with the first tee booked for 12 o’clock. Please arrive by 11 o’clock for coffee & bacon sandwiches before we commence the golf. The cost for the day is £35 plus sweep. \n There is 1 buggy booked for the round so please advice as soon as possible if we need more. \nHowley Hall is within minutes of the M62 and M1 on the outskirts of Leeds – it’s the ideal golf course in a perfect location for golf societies and visiting parties. \nThere is always a warm welcome at Howley Hall. More than a great golf course\, with probably the best four finishing holes in Yorkshire\, it is the perfect venue for all occasions. The club’s function rooms can be hired for a wide variety of events including Business Meetings and Seminars\, Special Events & Celebrations and Wedding Receptions. \nFounded in 1900\, with course improvements advised on by Dr Alister Mackenzie in 1913\, Howley Hall is now the home of the PGA in Yorkshire Open Championship and is considered one of the finest championship courses in Yorkshire. \nThe course improvement programme carried out over recent years has transformed the already challenging 18 hole layout. DESCRIPTION:This event is a 27 hole competition with the first tee booked for 1030. Please arrive by 0930 for coffee & bacon sandwiches before we commence the golf.  After the morning 9 holes there will be lunch of soup and sandwiches followed by the afternoon 18 holes. To finish the day there will be a 2 course evening meal. The menu will be finalised in due course. \n It is a super full day out with both rounds counting towards the final results and so every shot counts on this great course where we are always well looked after year after year and is well worth the trip up the A1.  This is possibly the best value day we have all season and so please do come along and show your support. \nPLEASE CONTACT THE CLUB DIRECTLY TO BOOK A BUGGY.
