Malton & Norton Report
The last fixture of the season was the AGM trophy which, this year was played for at Malton & Norton GC where 16 players turned out together with the sunshine once again. This season has been by far the best summer we have ever played with barely a single drop of rain. It has also been the best supported season for many many years. Possibly down to the weather but here’s hoping it’s more than just that!
The course at Malton was slightly disappointing as 18 of the 27 greens had been maintained and sadly the club failed to advise us so we could not swap fixtures around to be able to play it in prime condition.
The scores on the day were pretty good with the average being 31 Stableford points and this is how it all panned out……
Nearest the pins were won by Adam Littlewood (hole 2) , Lee Cooper (hole 4) , Lee Worth (hole 13) and Dan Pennington (hole 17).
There was just 1 player scoring a 2 and that was Paul Kilburn who took the whole £16 pot!!
In third place with 37 points, losing 19 to 17 on the back 9 was Ian Dyson.
In second place also with 37 points was Adam Littlewood.
The winner of the 2025/AGM with a super score of 39 points was Paul Kilburn.
Well done to all who won a prize both at Malton and also throughout this season.
The results & handicaps page have been updated accordingly with the last column being the 2026 starting handicaps.
The AGM was held at lunchtime at Malton and the minutes will be typed up and posted in due course. Some great courses were suggested for 2026 including Moortown, Rotherham and Strensall. Enquiries will be made regarding pricing and potential dates in the coming months running up to the new year.
Finally for this season, there will be an audit of email addresses to trim down unwanted emails. There are several names in the address book who have not turned out for the past couple of seasons and so names will be removed for those who do not wish to be on the mailing list.
