Normanton G.C. Report

A superb 23 players turned out to support the society on a cool blustery day which saw some pretty good  golf in parts. The course was, as always, presented well and coupled with a good stock of supplies at the half way house made for a great day in all. The greens were pretty quick if a little bobbly in places but this didn’t stop Steve Pattrick being the only player to get a 2 on the 2nd hole, netting himself the entire pot of £24.

A warm welcome to the 3 new players, Dave Brenton, Bernard Halkyard & Luke Wirrilow. Thanks for the support guys, hope you had an enjoyable day and hope see you again in the coming fixtures.

On to the prizes for the day and taking the nearest pin prizes were…..

Steve Patrick on hole 2, James Pickersgill on hole 4, Mark Holliday on hole 10 & Lee Weatherill on hole 12, Lee also won the longest drive competition. Taking the captains prize on hole 8 was Roger Worth with a very decent approach indeed!!

In 3rd place with a score of 39 points was Steve Patrick, 2nd place with 40 points was Chris Copestake and the winner of the Keeble Cup with 41 points was Ian Dyson. Well done and in your efforts, as a reward, all 3 of you lose 2 shots from your handicaps!!!

Talking of Handicaps, there are 10 adjustments. 6 players getting shots back & 4 losing shots. these have been updated accordingly on the website.
