Forest Park Report
A warm, calm & overcast day provided perfect golfing conditions for the 18 players who turned out to play for the Hickling trophy.
Forest Park is a very flat walk and with the perfect conditions, it provided the highest average scoring we’ve had at 35 points. Even My England WHS system altered the PCC scoring on their app by -1 to reflect the conditions for all who entered a score that day!
Onto the prizes……
Nearest the pins on the par 3’s were as follows….
Roger Worth, hole 4…..Dave Colley, Hole 7….. Lee Weatherill, hole 14 & Nigel Owram, hole 16.
The Captains prize on hole 17 was won by Lee Weatherill who also visited the 2’s club with Lee Cooper.
In overall 3rd place with a great score of 41 was Richard Teals. 2nd place on a count back with a huge 42 points was Wayne Jackson, meaning the winner also on 42 was debutant Nick Mcevoy. Welcome Nick, well played with that great score.
On to the next 2 days out….
First up is the Mel Smart Memorial at Wakefield Golf Club on Monday 15th August. To keep with Mel’s wishes a tradition, this will be a 18 hole medal competition.
This is just 1 week before our Captains Day on Monday 22nd August.
All details are in the events section of this website.
Finally, it has been decided that a £10 discount will be applied on the 15th August at Wakefield for anyone attending who has attended 1 event this season already. This is to reflect the fact there are 2 golf days within 7 days and will be subsidised by the society funds.
We really do need the numbers for both but especially for the captains day at Hillsborough so please do support both the society and Dave Colley on his big day.
I will be in touch shortly via Email to get numbers for both events.
Happy Swingning!!
