Webster Cup at The Bradford Gold Club. 14th September 2026

The final BRGS day of 2026 was the Webster Cup which was again held at the very impressive Bradford Golf Club. After a great day in 2025, a unanimous vote had us returning this year and I think we all thoroughly enjoyed a very well presented course with very little to complain about.

22 members turned up to a warm, bright day and the 30 seconds of drizzle didn’t spoil the day.

There were 2 x 2’s. Lee Cooper on the 12th & Lee Wetherill on the 14th

Nearest the pins were won by Phil Davis (3), Lee Wetherill (12) & Chris Copestake (14)

Finishing 3rd with 36 points and the 2nd best back 9 of the 36 pointers was Chris Battersby, 2nd with the best back 9 of the 36 pointers was Ian Dyson and the winner of the 2026 Webster Cup with a 37 Point haul was Luke Worrillow. A great round and a worthy winner but boy, that’s going to hurt with the handicap cut!!!!!!

Speaking of which, the day’s average was an impressive 31 points & therefore the bufferzone runs from 28 to 34 points inclusive. The Handicap page has been updated so you can see your updated handicap & what you’ll start 2027 with. Any complaints will be duly chucked in the bin.

So that’s that. 2026 BRGS season over & done with. Well, with the exception of the Pete Ferris Memorial trophy which I’m holding on Thursday 24th September at Bracken Ghyll Golf Club. 1200 meet up for Bacon Rolls, 1300 first tee & evening meal of Burger & Chips around 1800. £40pp. If you’re interested please drop me a message on 07790756120 asap so I can get you added on & send my bank details for payment. I think I’ve got 6 places remaining.

But in reality, that is the 2026 season done with & want to thank every one of you who have attended this year. I think the total number playing this year has been 166. A fantastic turnout & It makes the organising it all worthwhile.

Hope we have a half decent winter & you can get out & play a lot of Golf.

We’ll update the group as soon as practicable with progress on 2027 bookings so you can start filling in your diaries. Fingers crossed we’ll get 7 or 8 events booked in with the first being a winter warm up sometime in March.

Thanks again for your continued support of the Society.
